This study involved collecting and analyzing posts and comments from Reddit related to "3DMark License Key" searches. The primary subreddits examined were r/SoftwareCracks, r/ActivationKeys, and r/PCGaming, where discussions about software licenses and activations frequently occur. Posts and comments were gathered over a period of six months (January to June 2023) to capture a broad spectrum of discussions.
Further studies could investigate the prevalence and impact of software key discussions on other platforms, the evolution of user attitudes towards software acquisition, and the effectiveness of different strategies for reducing the demand for pirated software licenses.
