Maria opened it on her phone, the blue light bleaching the dark of her kitchen. She was fifty-two. Her knees ached before she’d even stood up. She scrolled past the preamble—the “welcome to the release,” the “energy, alignment, intensity”—and landed on Track 4: Back . Now she watched her own reflection: a woman calculating how to hide a wince during the transition from bar to mat. Track 5: Triceps . The notes said “push-up tempo: 3-1-1-1.
