The highly anticipated Romanian drama Iubire Si Onoare (Love and Honor) finally premiered its first episode, and if this opening is any indication, audiences are in for a tense, emotional rollercoaster. Episode 1 does exactly what a pilot should do: introduces compelling conflicts, establishes a world of stark contrasts, and leaves you reaching for the remote to play the next episode.

The antagonist—a sneering, power-hungry family member—is written a bit too broadly in this premiere. He twirls his metaphorical mustache a few times too many, and his dialogue lacks the nuance given to the leads. The highly anticipated Romanian drama Iubire Si Onoare
