In geometry, parallel lines are lines that lie in the same plane and never intersect. A transversal is a line that intersects two or more lines. When a transversal intersects two parallel lines, it creates a series of angles that have specific properties.
Since angle y and the 120° angle are alternate exterior angles, they are equal. Therefore, angle y = 120°.
