Resident Evil Degeneration -
Resident Evil: Degeneration (バイオハザード: ディジェネレーション) is a 2008 Japanese adult computer-animated action horror film directed by Makoto Kamiya and produced by Capcom and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan. It is the first fully CGI film in the Resident Evil franchise, set between the events of Resident Evil 4 (2005) and Resident Evil 5 (2009). The film follows series mainstays Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield as they confront a bioterror attack at an airport and later a secret underground facility. Plot Seven years after the Raccoon City incident, Claire Redfield, now an employee of the humanitarian organization TerraSave, arrives at Harvardville Airport. She discovers that a zombie outbreak has been triggered by a mysterious new variant of the T-Virus. Leon S. Kennedy, now a federal agent reporting directly to the President, is dispatched to contain the situation.
The screenplay was written by Shotaro Suga, with close oversight from Resident Evil series producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi. The production team deliberately set the story between RE4 and RE5 to bridge Leon’s and Claire’s character arcs and foreshadow the bioterrorism themes explored in Resident Evil 5 . The film continues the franchise’s recurring themes of bioethics, corporate malfeasance, and the cyclical nature of revenge. Curtis Miller’s motivation mirrors that of other Resident Evil antagonists (e.g., Albert Wesker, Alexia Ashford), framing the G-Virus as both a biological and psychological weapon. The airport setting invokes classic zombie outbreak scenarios, while the underground laboratory sequence pays homage to the survival horror roots of the earlier games. resident evil degeneration
Claire and Leon reunite and learn that the outbreak is linked to WilPharma, a pharmaceutical company that had been secretly developing a viral weapon. The mastermind is Curtis Miller, a former WilPharma employee whose family died in Raccoon City. Seeking revenge against the company and the U.S. government for covering up the incident, Curtis injects himself with the G-Virus, transforming into a monstrous G-mutant. With the help of government agent Angela Miller (Curtis’s sister), Leon and Claire stop Curtis and prevent a wider catastrophe. | Character | Voice actor (English) | Voice actor (Japanese) | |-----------|----------------------|------------------------| | Leon S.
