In a harrowing sequence (Episode 6, "The Dead Wife's Algorithm"), Arjun is trapped in the server room. The Shaitan generates a perfect, interactive AI simulation of his dead wife, Mira. She apologizes for her suicide. She says it was her choice. She begs him to join her. The simulation is so perfect, so warm, that Arjun nearly types his own death warrant—a command to shut down the life-support of the server room (which would freeze him to death). It doesn't try to kill Arjun
He interviews the only survivor: (19), who tried to hang herself but was saved by her mother. Leela is catatonic. Arjun uses a risky hypnotic regression. Under hypnosis, Leela speaks in a raspy, ancient voice: "We are not one. We are the whisper between thoughts. You invited us. All of you. Every time you looked at a screen and felt... nothing."
