To protect its intellectual property and prevent piracy, SolidCAM employs a dongle-based software protection mechanism. However, the security of this mechanism has not been thoroughly evaluated. In this paper, we present a vulnerability analysis and exploitation of the SolidCAM dongle, highlighting the weaknesses in its design and implementation. We demonstrate a proof-of-concept crack for the dongle, allowing us to bypass the software's protection mechanisms.
