Stata 12 was a workhorse. It didn't have machine learning integrations or Python bridges, but damn—it never crashed on a 10GB dataset.
If you still have a legitimate copy on a dusty CD-ROM, cherish it. But if you just downloaded a random FULL INSTALL from the internet… run a virus scan. Then run regress y x .
