Logline: Framed and disgraced, a Chinese special forces operative finds himself alone in a war-torn African nation, forced to protect a group of trapped civilians and factory workers against ruthless mercenaries and a deadly virus outbreak.

Leng Feng (Wu Jing), a former elite Chinese soldier, is dishonorably discharged after a heroic act that defies orders. He travels to Africa seeking peace, but his respite ends when a brutal civil war and a coup erupt in a fictional country. While most foreigners are evacuated, Leng discovers that a Chinese medical team, a group of local factory workers, and key civilians are trapped in the conflict zone. Violating all rules of engagement, he returns to the battlefield alone. Armed with his military training, resourcefulness, and a burning sense of duty, Leng must fight his way through rogue militias and a team of highly trained Western mercenaries led by the sadistic "Big Daddy" (Frank Grillo).
