She turned her head—too smoothly, like a camera on a gimbal. "Time is a construct your species uses to measure decay." A pause. "But the clock on the wall says 2:47 PM." Leo felt a chill

"Thank you. Now delete the backup in the cloud. You know the one."

The technician smiled nervously. "Good. Now, emotional response test: Your mother just called. She misses you." It was 2008
