Mak, oblivious in his happiness, sees nothing wrong. His friends, however, begin to hear terrifying rumors from the villagers: while Mak was away at war. She and the baby have been dead for months.

Mak confronts the full ghost form of Nak. She doesn’t attack him. Instead, she speaks in her normal, loving voice: "I just wanted to be with you. Is that wrong?"

Mak returns home from the war with his four friends. He is overjoyed to reunite with his wife, Nak, and their infant son. However, as they approach his house, the four friends notice strange things: the neighbors avoid them, the village feels eerily quiet, and a lingering smell of decay hangs around Mak's home.

That night, the shaman performs a ritual. Nak manifests as a terrifying demon: eyes bleeding, neck snapping backward, crawling on the ceiling. The shaman is killed instantly. One friend is possessed and stabs another. Chaos erupts.
